Die. Live. Exist.

Supposedly an EDM album.
The first half is even kinda good!

link

New York, New returns with Die. Live. Exist. marking a bold foray into the vast and varied world of electronic dance music. The album invites the listener on a journey through dancy, driving tracks, past the aptly named point of no return, at which point things take a turn for the avant-garde, before culminating triumphantly in the one-two punch of the grand finale and the credits music. If you have ever wondered about the nature of hyperdisatrily or fantantotropcalism, this album is worth a listen.

Selected Penis Music Works 20-23

A little bit of penis music and mostly random bullshit.

link

Ostensibly a penis music album, this release quickly strays from that label and, in typical New York, New fashion, contains lots of random bullshit. That being said does not however preclude the presence of hidden gems, for indeed this release features such bangers as "my goldfish, oreo", "Waltuh", "New Untitled, New", and "doot_DOOT", as well as the readily quotable "I love water", the infectiously catchy "Hammy", and "Oversaturated industrial rhapsody", which has at least once been described as a magnum opus, before finishing off with "the sleep deprived song", found relatable by students the world over.
Did you notice that was one giant fucking sentence?

The album's title is an obvious nod to Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works 85-92. That album was followed by a Volume II. Does that imply anything about our penis music album? Only time will tell.

Back to Basics

Free Improv 2025

releases in the free improv project

Vol. 238,395

January

Bandcamp

This album was actually produced years ago, but when we finally released it in January 2025, it inspired the whole free improv project.

Track 2 was created by placing three instrumentalists and three record players with dumpster-dived records in a room and recording a live performance, then applying varoious effects afterwards.
Track 4 was recorded live in one room on digital piano and real potato chips.
Tracks 6 and 7 were recorded live over the internet via a program called SonoBus.

Vol. 6.022x1023

February

Bandcamp

Off to the races with our first free improv album actually produced within the month...

Track 1 was created by passing one of Albe's compositions through shaperbox and adding drums and bass.
Tracks 2 and 7 were recorded live in SonoBus.
Track 4 was created by combining samples from varoius sources, including sounds stolen from Christian Henson, Liaopsol9987, and the streets of Manhattan.

Bandcamp

The image used in the cover is in fact the actual mac n cheese but without the mac and with the vodka.

Track 1 was provided by another band which elected to remain anonymous.
Track 2 was made in Florida. This is not a drill.
Track 5 is at the precise tempo that Adam Neely hates.
Track 7 took far too long to make. We put way to much thought into it. It's literally a five second fart joke, we had no justification for spending like 40 minutes deliberating over it.

Vol. 42069

April

Bandcamp

With Easter, 4/20, and a NYN album release all on the same day, there really is something for everyone.

Featuring bangers Green Rabbit, with Gourdy on guitar and vocals, and Augie on da bass, and Kneel Before Neil by Albe, in remembrance of the 19 year old meme "Neil banging out the tunes"
Also featuring for the first time with New York, New: lolguy and RonZak!

Vol. 9001¾

May

Bandcamp

Track 2 is an ode of loathing to Astound Broadband.
Track 4 was created in vcvrack and was originally like 3 times as long.
Track 6 was written very quickly and recorded on only real instruments in about 3 days.
Track 7 speaks for itself. A true masterpiece.

Vol. 621 (uwu)

June

Bandcamp

Happy pride month y'all. And happy funny furry number day. Whether you're queer, furry, both, or neither, we hope you enjoy this edition of Free Improv 2025.

Miscellaneous Trivia:

  • Track 2 was suggested by memcpy and was more fun to make than expected.
  • Track 4 was actually made mostly last month but is fitting for the summertime.
  • Track 5 is based on a recording made underground.
  • Track 7 was made quickly right before release. It and track 1 really do bookend the album.

Once you've made it to the end, take a moment to reflect... then perpare for next month.
Because you know what they say comes after pride...
Wrath.

Vol. 299,792,458

June

Bandcamp

July brings many things... including another track from lolguy and an epic collab with first-time contriutor memcpy. Plus a bunch of our own homegrown bullshit.

Miscellaneous Trivia:

  • The title of track 2 is "gastroesophageal reflux disease" translated into Greek.
  • Track 4 is as awful as possible, and somehow Gourdy still ended up recording six real wind instruments for it. Some additional sounds also contributed by Puffman. Goofy reggaeton beat stolen from em essex.
  • Track 7 was recorded with a real hurdy gurdy in a real bunker.
  • Track 8 is an excerpt of a live jam with bass overdubbed.
  • Track 9 was made by literally just playing "shitting with the door open" off bandcamp through some speakers in a bathroom and recording it from outside the closed door. We are supremely funny.
  • Tracks 3, 6, and 11 were slipped onto the album a mere day before its release.

The feet in the cover art came from an image that can be found on the community tab of our bandcamp. The background is an image of the surface of Mars.
And, for those who don't know, the volume number is the speed of light through a vacuum in m/s.
