The New York, New Paradigm
New York, New music is a joke... right? It turns out, the pretext of our music being a shitpost is a remarkably good tool for spurring creativity. If you set out to make goofy music, you are less inclined to be perfectionistic about it, and less likely to get stuck.
Making music that you deliberately don't take seriously is also an excellent excuse to try new things and practice the craft of making music itself. And hey, if you accidentally arrive at a result that you are actually proud of, all the better. But setting out without that as the goal frees you from disappointment if it doesn't happen.
